With need-blind admissions and need-based financial aid, it aims to shape future leaders from India and beyond, while becoming India’s top university and one of the best globally.

Since 2014, Ashoka University has delivered interdisciplinary, experiential, and student-centric programmes, combining academic excellence, global exposure, and real-world learning, with collective philanthropy at its core. Over 3,000 students from across India and 21 countries are currently enrolled, and the alumni base exceeds 5,500. Nearly half of the students are supported by a robust financial aid programme, with ₹610 crore disbursed to 5,000+ students until 2025.   

Ashoka has a 100% placement record, with a majority being placed with corporates and a significant number in the development sector. Graduates pursue higher studies at top global institutions, receiving prestigious fellowships like Rhodes, Fulbright, Inlaks, Schwarzman, and more. The Harish and Bina Shah Foundation grant is helping Ashoka University build strong foundations in the humanities, especially through the establishment of the Harish and Bina Shah School of Humanities. The school houses disciplines of English, History, Philosophy, Creative Writing, Performing and Visual Arts, as well as Centres of Excellence including Centre for Interdisciplinary Archaeological Research, Ashoka Centre for Translation, Centre for Studies in Gender and Sexuality, and Centre for the Creative and Critical.   It supports faculty, interdisciplinary research with humanities at its core, and infrastructure that empowers  students to become bold thinkers, compassionate leaders and changemakers who are equipped to shape a more inclusive and informed society.
