BYST (Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust)
Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) aims to generate employment and wealth through entrepreneurship for disadvantaged Indian youth and turn their business ideas into profitable enterprises, under the guidance and support of a mentor. This enables job seekers to convert into job creators.

BYST, set up in 1992, is a not-for-profit organization that assists disadvantaged Indian youth between the age group 18-35 years (where unemployment rate reached a concerning 23.7% in 2021) in developing their business ideas into viable enterprises. It is based on a unique model of “Guru-Shishya Parampara” (teacher-disciple relationship), wherein the mentor trains, supports, monitors and helps the entrepreneur in networking and nurtures them to run a self-sufficient business.

Over the last 3 decades BYST has:

i) Counselled over 20 lakh youth

iii) Supported 40,000+ entrepreneurs

iii) Created over 5 lakh jobs

The Harish and Bina Shah Foundation grant is being utilised by BYST to implement the Digital Grampreneur® development programme in aspirational districts of Odisha (Kalahandi, Koraput) and Jharkhand (Ramgarh). The grant supports awareness generation, training, mentoring, and financial facilitation for disadvantaged rural youth to become entrepreneurs and drive inclusive, sustainable local economic growth.
