FED (Foundation for Economic Development)
The evidence clearly shows that economic growth is the best tool to lift people out of poverty, and most countries have achieved rapid growth by focusing on exports. The Foundation for Economic Developmentās (FED) mission is to enable faster growth through global competitiveness in exports.
FED partners with central and state governments to enact reforms in horizontal enablers like ease of doing business, trade policies, lowering the cost of factors of production in sectors like garments, electronics, e-commerce and capital goods. FED works across the reform value chain, from research & strategy to communications and implementation support. Guided by an eminent advisory board of leaders in economics, business, and public policy, FED brings together ideas and execution to keep growth through exports at the centre of India’s policy agenda.
The Harish and Bina Shah Foundation grant will be used to build teams that drive our work across two areas; the first being ease of doing business reforms across multiple states, and the second, to outline a reform agenda for key sectors like electronics, garments and other labour-intensive sectors.
