Jatan Sansthan
Under the Healthy Generation Project, Jatan Sansthan addresses acute and chronic malnutrition in southern Rajasthan, targeting children, adolescent girls, and pregnant and lactating women by focusing on the 1,000-day window and working on root causes to break the inter-generational cycle.
Jatan Sansthan, a grassroots non-profit organization, has been working since 2001 across 14,000+ villages in southern Rajasthan, including Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Barmer, Bhilwara, Sirohi, and Banswara, focusing on tribal and resource-poor communities. By mobilising youth groups and local networks, Jatan promotes health, education, and gender equity for women, children, and adolescents. Through sustained engagement of over 24 years, it has improved awareness, service access, and community capacity for more than 1.53 million children and their families.
Under the Healthy Generation Project, the Harish and Bina Shah Foundation grant supports strengthening maternal and child health among tribal and marginalised communities in Rajasthan. The programme promotes community-based nutrition interventions to reduce malnutrition, conducts awareness sessions on nutrition, health, and sexual reproductive health, provides capacity building of frontline workers, and organizes health camps for anaemia and malnutrition among other health-related issues.
