PDMDS (Parkinson's Disease & Movement Disorder Society)
The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Society (PDMDS), founded in 2001 by internationally renowned neurologist Padma Shri Dr. Bhim Sen Singhal, working to reach underserved communities living with Parkinson's across India, providing access to multidisciplinary therapy — a resource that remains out of reach for the vast majority of those who need it.
For 25 years, PDMDS has delivered free therapy to people with Parkinson's and their caregivers across India. Their evidence-based community rehabilitation module combines physical, occupational, cognitive, and creative interventions to address both motor and non-motor symptoms holistically. Through door-to-door outreach, media, webinars, and educational sessions, PDMDS has trained over 12,000 allied health professionals, nurses, social workers, nonprofit staff, and grassroots workers nationwide. As of 2026, 60,000+ people with Parkinson's have been supported through 75+ support groups, with over 1.5 million stakeholders sensitised.
