Plaksha University

Plaksha University
Plaksha is reimagining engineering education by addressing critical needs: emerging curricula, inter-disciplinary learning, industry linkages, and hands-on, entrepreneurial experiences. It empowers students to tackle real-world challenges and drive innovation that benefits society.

Plaksha’s journey began in 2015 as a conversation among entrepreneurs and business leaders eager to transform engineering education. Reimagining Higher Education Foundation, a not-for-profit, was established in 2017 to bring this vision to life. Based in Mohali, Plaksha offers interdisciplinary programmes, thematic research centres, and strong industry collaborations to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship. Since launching its campus in 2021, it has enrolled over 500 students, engaged 40+ full-time and 20+ visiting faculty, and operationalised 10+ research labs.

The Harish and Bina Shah Foundation grant supports the School of AI & Computer Science at Plaksha, a global hub for interdisciplinary AI education and research. It enables cutting-edge academic programmes and real-world applications in healthcare, sustainability, and ethics, while fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and global collaborations with institutions like Penn Engineering and UC Berkeley.
