About the Partner
Since 2012, Rekhta Foundation has developed a digital and cultural ecosystem to preserve and promote Indian languages, including Urdu, Hindi, Rajasthani and Gujarati. Beginning with its digital repository of Urdu literature, Rekhta.org (www.rekhta.org), the foundation has expanded its work through digitisation, festivals, publishing and language-learning initiatives. By combining technology with cultural programming, Rekhta makes literature and linguistic heritage more accessible, inclusive and engaging. Its platforms connect readers, writers, scholars and artists, fostering appreciation for India’s diverse literary traditions among audiences in India and around the world.
HBSF Engagement
The partnership with Harish & Bina Shah Foundation supports Rekhta Foundation’s institutional strengthening and its work to preserve and promote Indian languages. The grant contributes to key organisational systems, donor engagement and fundraising capacity, helping strengthen Rekhta’s long-term sustainability. It also supports efforts to deepen audience engagement and improve access to literature, poetry, and cultural heritage through Rekhta’s digital and cultural platforms. In addition, HBSF support contributes to the expansion of Shaam-e-Rekhta, enabling wider public engagement with language, art and culture while strengthening Rekhta’s broader mission of deepening appreciation for India’s diverse linguistic traditions.
